When South African model Candice Swanepoel partnered with Mother Denim to design a spring capsule collection, she was asked to select a charity to receive proceeds of the sales. We are delighted that mothers2mothers was the perfect fit! “Not only was I able to explore my own creativity, but also garner attention and support for an organisation that saves lives and empowers women and mothers-to-be,” Candice said.
“mothers2mothers is very grateful to Mother Denim and Candice Swanepoel for donating proceeds of sales of their beautiful spring collection to benefit mothers2mothers,” said Robin Smalley, Co-Founder and Director, mothers2mothers U.S.
“As a child of South Africa herself, Candice understands the importance of creating an HIV-free generation and improving the health and wellbeing of HIV-positive mothers. The support generated will empower more mothers living with HIV, providing them with lifesaving education and support so they seek medial care early in their pregnancy, adhere to life-saving medication, and stay in treatment for optimum health outcomes. We hope everyone will support their efforts, and in doing so, save lives,” she added.
The collection, due in stores worldwide in mid-February, is inspired by 90s street style and was shot by renowned photographer Russell James. Candice worked hand-in-hand with Mother Denim designer Tim Keading on every detail – from the design, fit, and washes to the logo, hardware ,and hangtags – in order to ensure the collection reflected her personal style. She even incorporated her family crest, a swimming swan, onto each piece.
